Let’s Talk…

Hello Hello Hi! It’s been a freakin’ while bahlali since we touched base. Life is been life, not really showing me flames (yet) but it was just being life nje *sigh* I need to just live the best of it the best know my circumstances allow.

So this weekend I kind-a stayed indoors well for iskhathane and I managed to catch some TV programmes that are relatively new (to me) and caught my attention.

Somizi Mhlongo

Oh before we start with TV shows I will start with “whose show is it anyway” (radio show). Friday I had some problems that led me to go to work rather late in the morning which gave me time to actually listen to the Somizi, Khanyi and Ntombi’s show. 1st things 1st I need to congratulate the three for landing the Metro FM job! Whose Show Is it, is a complete and utter waste of people’s time. It’s horrible, atrocious, pathetic and a completely disengaged show I’ve ever listened to.

THE show sounded like a community radio show, I kept on checking if I’m listening to the correct station ngoba ibimbi shame into endiyivayo. Metro FM sounds like a community radio for those two hours shem . Ewe ndiyabavuyela for the job but can they at the least try make it work, unify the content and work on their weak points to enhance their show or else get better and deserving individuals for the slot…

khanyi-mbau_26852401774_o

Saturday Morning I caught a glimpse of The Weekend Edition ka Phat Joe with Khanyi Mbau. There I found Khanyi to be more in her element or maybe it was Joe’s touch, I mean Phat Joe is untouchable yazi in this presenting thing. I can’t compare him to anyone he is doing him and doing him good and with Khanyi they make a perfect duo.

Kagiso Lediga

I also caught the News Ish on Mtv base, well it was not the first time but I noticed they change their panel/guests from actors to comedians to fashion designers stylists etc which makes it more interesting for different views, they discuss everything under the sun AND they also talk about current events with less or humoured filter. I love it!

Lorna

Lastly I caught up Top Chef SA, All I can say is Impressive TV! I love Lorna and the panel of judges they’re a beautiful combination.

What shows have caught your attention, let’s talk

Will You Be Voting Today?

On the eve of local municipality elections I met up with a lad by the name of Gomo we started chatting about everything and anything and not the least we spoke about our feelings about tomorrow *read election day*

And this is how our chat went:

confusion

Z: Do you know whom you’re voting for?

G: Well, I have not decided but it seems like I will be voting for the EFF.

Z: Really? Why?

G: Above everything else I don’t want them to win but to keep the ANC on their toes… having said that I’m confused as I don’t know what the EFF will do should they win I’m actually scared… all in all I still want the ANC to win and do good and maybe one day I will change my vote again to the ruling party *sigh* because I know there’s a lot of people benefiting. Actually that’s the reason why I’m undecided as to what political party I will support.

-

G: Wena Zolani, Who are you voting for?

Z: Eish I don’t even know if I’m voting tomorrow, I guess it will depend on my mood. I honestly see tomorrow as a braai day or an excuse to hang with friends more than anything. But, if I decide to go vote I would vote for a party that is going to bring about change or promises to bring about change. I have always been a loyal supporter of the ruling party through its f*ck ups and all its awesome times but the way they are doing things right now makes me wish otherwise.

G: Zolani lets make a deal, Tomorrow we get and make a difference by voting for any political party we believe will bring about change,

Z: Agreed comrade!

So with the same sentiments injected in me I say to you, Go Vote people and may a better political party win!

David Tlale Presents, The Interns Fashion Show 2016!

As I have been indicating that I’m going through life’s things but that don’t mean I will not update you on everything I attended, the events may be delayed but… In the Month of June we were invited and attended David presents interns fashion show. Most may know I’m not a fashion person, to a large extent I don’t understand it so, this would not be a pulling factor kum. I had my camera with me but I was not sure if I wanted to cover a fashion show until David took to stage to give us (people like myself) the history/back-ground behind the fashion show then I was sold! Something in me said Zeeba you are going to cover this even, David was sincere and genuine about this project, I could feel and hear it from his tone, and you know more than anything I love philanthropy work.

What does David Tlale presents Interns Fashion show entails and how long has it been going?

The Interns by David Tlaleprogramme first launched in 2013 in the KwaZulu-Natal region where David Tlale took in two interns from the KZN region. The interns moved to Joburg for a year while they worked closely with Tlale.

“During the first two years those interns were very lucky as they worked very closely with me. I showed them and taught all the bits they don’t get to lean in school. With us, they got to have a real-life experience of the fashion industry, including working backstage with me at New York Fashion Week,” adds Tlale.

What is Tlale’s objective with kind of programme?

The programme’s curriculum is aimed at imparting solid knowledge and a sound transfer of specialist skills needed to survive the business of fashion.

Is there a theme for this year’s show, if so what is it?

Nine fashion design interns will each present a 17-piece collection to showcase their creativity and skill as they commemorate May Day and 40 years since the June 16 uprising.

Congratulations to the names interns and may they soar with prosperity in this Fashion biz! With that being said feast your selves on are some images from their collection:

Congratulations to the interns in no order of appearance/clothing items (Ntando Ngwenya, Mahlodi Kgotlane, Winnie Mokwena, Angelin Mafemo, Siphosihle Masango, Cindy Meaba, Mbali Buthelezi, Maxwell Boko and Mmuso Potsane)  and may they soar with prosperity in this Fashion biz! $

Yesterday South Africans were awarded the opportunity to vote for whomever they wish to run local municipalities, people went in numbers wanting their say to be heard and It seems as if the Ruling party should have uvalo after looking at the preliminary results thus far however, we all know that it’s still anyone’s game until the 100% votes have been counted-in then we shall know who took the lead.

Here are some of the result snippets from enca live blog:

iec-logo-Medium

  • DA firmly in the lead in Nelson Mandela Bay with 52% of votes counted.
  • ANC firmly in control of the Free State, but support is down from 2011 – 59% of votes counted.
  • DA to stay in control of Midvaal with 94% of votes counted.

Are you happy the preliminary results so far, if not, what would you reckon, who do you deem appropriate to be in POWER?

Weekend News Update?

It’s one of those weekends when I feel our Sunday Tabloid news papers have hit the dry week news … yet again. Without wasting anytime let’s see what stories made headlines (and caught my attention) izolo.

20160814_151446

Sunday Sun had police Minister Nathi Nhleko’s wife head-lining squatting rumours. Sunday Sun’s sources allege SAPS cops escorted the wife Nothando Nhleko out of her home in June because Nathi was seeing Dr Nomcebo Mthembu. They claim she is now living at a single rented room as a squatter. When Nothando was contacted by the Sunday Sun team, she confirmed they’re separated and as a couple they decided she moves out of THEIR house until their problems are fixed.

20160814_151459

This part finishes me shem” Sunday Sun has been told Nhleko took back the Land Rover and Land Cruiser Nothando was driving now she is using taxis” so what must happen now, umntu is entitled to take back what’s theirs moss, right?

“I’m still married to Nathi, if he wants a second wife, the law binds him to ask me for approval” says Nothando.

Tjoe hayi sana I don’t understand how something that transpired in June makes headlines in August kodwa ke they say there’s a court case pending ngalendaba. My question about this is, do people still hold on to relationships even when it’s clear there’s no love?

20160814_200414

  • An apology written out to Pearl Thusi for publishing an article headline “ ENGAGED TO HERSELF” without verifying facts and contacting Pearl.. *smmfh* I think The Apology to Pearl should have been the headline yazi.
  • Noeleen’s Collapse, Sunday Sun’s sources claim Noeleen Maholwana Sangqu was rushed to Rosebank Clinic last week where she spent six days. Maar Noeleen is denying yonke lonto she says she has not been hospitalized… I don’t know why this is news *moves right along*
  • 20160814_164911

Off to Sunday World *sigh* Mboro takes on Hlaudi…according to Sunday World Prophet Paseka “Mboro” Motsoeneng paid monies over half a million rand to the SABC for a live evening slot on Lotus and Ukhozi FM. He said the SABC later told him to pre-record the shows instead of going live…subsequently the corporation later cancelled his Ukhozi FM shows without explanation and when he enquired they cited technical glitches… he goes on to say that even the pre-recorded shows played for 15 minutes instead of the 25 minutes they agreed on.

According to SABC spoke person Kaizer Kganyago, confirmed the SABC had an advertising agreement with Mboro and also stated that during the course of the broadcast it was found that some remarks violated the SABC religious broadcasting policy and the SABC terminated the advertisements.

Tjoe hayi sana this Mfundisi and Hlaudi love attention, this is a simple case of bad communication and refunding the client what’s due after taking into consideration everything including the breach and and and.

  • Last week 5fm turned down Cici’s song and there is no known reason as to why they did that as yet.

  • Minnie Dlamini misses Power Fm talk show after an attempt break-in at her home in Durban. Bathi Minnie was scheduled to present a show on Power FM on Tuesday afternoon as part of Women’s Month celebration… I don’t blame Minnie, family comes first wethu the rest will follow.

20160814_155604This killed me shem!Lmao

That’s it from me. What news caught your attention this weekend?

The Hennessy V.S.O.P Privilege Circle took place last month at the Saxon Villa Royale. The house was amazing and the experience was one of those I would to be part of at any given time,  given a chance. It was indeed like a evening for a king, Live Music, Cigars flowing, some people were getting their pampering done by way of back massages mani’s and facials. On this two storey house with a basement that has an entertainment field (cinema), we played/shot pool, there were luxurious brands to discover all around the house and of-course Hennessy flowing.DSC_9268

The ANC, What Do You Think Went Wrong?

$
0
0

I read on Face-Book from one of JC’s old bloggers writing of a forgiving Nation we are, forgetting where we come from, to how we were treated by the then Apartheid Government for allowing DA (oppressors party disguised as sheep) to lead. I tried as much as I could not to agree with this bloggers sentiments, but in the end I did. I know I’m not a born free and I did not really experience the oppressions of the apartheid era, I’m eighties baby! However, I know from my siblings most specifically my parents of how hard and tough of times were living in this country. The country they called home.

I began to ask myself how did we get to where we are, how did the DA together with the EFF claim victory over what was or could have been for the ANC to rule forever. I remembered, the ANC stuffed up, stuffed up big time by firstly forcefully removing a dignified, eminent, responsible, educated and accountable man and a gentleman engu -Tat’ Thabo Mbeki to a man who is rather quite the opposite to be polite… two run not just one but two consecutive terms as President. In as much as Thabo Mbeki was a fallible individual (who isn’t ?) but he was the most appropriate to run this country. I even think Ntate Motlanthe could have done a dignified job as president should he had been given the chance.

ANC+flag+xgold+2012

Anyways, instead of cracking my head trying to figure out what we could do I spoke to one of my friends down in Cape Town, Sivuyile Watani and this is how our chat ensued

Zibha: Svig, as an ANC loyalist and member what do (did) you think of the ANC’s #Asinavalo campaign?

Sivuyile: I understood it to mean that we have no fear about competition and that we will retain governance where we were previously elected to govern.

Zibha: Now that the elections have come and passed, what’s the party’s general feel?

Sivuyile: Of we performed poorly and that the party needs to go back to listening to the people, whether they are members , supporters or not and not to take them for granted.

Zibha: In your opinion, do you think (or see) that the ANC has neglected the masses and why?

Sivuyile: No, I don’t believe that the ANC has neglected any people. What needs to improve is the pace of delivering services to the people and ultimately proving the people’s living conditions for the better. The ANC needs to reach out to where it has not yet managed to reach out.

Zibha: According to Stats released today it was outlined that more young black South Africans opted not to participate in this year’s local elections, what’s your take on those findings?

Sivuyile: What stats? Who is your source? Most young black people I know and around me voted, if that’s what you mean by “participate”.

Zibha: Where and what you think went wrong with the ruling party and what do you think should be done to curb the cracks?

Sivuyile:

  1. What went wrong? = The ANC is perceived not be tackling the fight against corruption and fraud head on and appropriately.
  • The leader of the party is compromised and the ANC is seen to be protecting him by not removing him.
  • Communities were not given their preferred councilor candidates.
  1. What should be done? = Change the leadership of the ANC is necessary. Compromised and older leaders must be replaced.
  • The party needs to go back to communities and apologise to the people for not putting forward their preferred candidates.

Zibha: At this stage Svij, do you think the ANC knows where the problem is with its organisation?

Sivuyile: Yes, the party is well aware of the problems, but we need to deal with them honestly and appropriately.

Zibha: Coalitions are underway, what’s your take?

Sivuyile: I am not a fan of coalitions. Coalitions have pros and cons though. The one advantage of coalitions that I think of is that a multiparty government can perform better because parties closely monitor each other.

The disadvantage is a clash in policies and even ideologies which may deter performance. I prefer a one party government, so that we know who to blame for none or lack of performance and know whom to hold accountable.

Zibha: That’s enough for now, Thank you Mr Prez.

Sivuyile: Sharp Zibha.

I love the ANC but not its leadership!

Your take?

SA Idols Announces Top 16.

$

One of our country’s most watched  (and also my favourite) television show is back with their BANG! Last night was very emotional for me shem when the judges (Unathi Msengana, Gareth Cliff, Randall Abrahams and Somizi Mhlongo) were giving our hopefuls Top 16 results. I must say I shed a tear or two irrespective of how bad the contestants performed nje to be told bad news in itself is heart-breaking. There is no doubt in my mind that the SA Idols production is one of the best shows South Africa ever has. Let meet this years hopefuls bahlali!

Keegan

Keegan Martin (23) from Gauteng left his job as a senior consultant at an insurance company to give Idols a try, and look where he is now. He lives with his parents and younger sister and plans to be involved in charity work while pursuing his music career…I think he has the look, the body but lacks on the voice talent. I have tried (in my head) to see him winning but nah, he gives me Brendan Ledwaba from Season 9 vibes and I forsee the same sympathy looks vote will apply to him as well.  *sigh* Did you guys see his speech with the judges thinking he didn’t make it to discover he did? actorisation engaka! *smh*ValentineThe bubbly Valentine Mathe (20) hails from Mamelodi, outside Pretoria, and lives with her mother and older brother. She is a full time musician who wants to study Journalisms at a college after Idols… I like her I like her. Sharp brilliant singer signs she is potraying thus far.

Nosihe

Nosihe Zama Zulu (28) quit her data capturing job to pursue music. Now studying music at the University of Durban at the Howard Campus, she lives alone in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, and hopes Idols SA will catapult her future music career. “I plan to continue making and writing music and eventually release an album – and just be amazing”, she says… I honestly don’t know how this girl made it to Top 16, it’s evident she went for vocal training/consultation after her golden ticket but she still does not cut it for me, there were mush more talented girls than her.

Lucia

Lucia Jakeni (26), is currently unemployed and plans to go back to school after Idols to study music and social services. Born in Everton North, Vereeniging, she lives with her dad, younger brother and two sons… Ndiyazithandela apha shem! Lucia is those raw talented indivials more like abo Siphokazi Maraqana of “Amacala” hit! With proper appealing grooming to South Africans and good song choices she stands a good chance.

Tebogo

Tebogo Louw (24) is from Stellenbosch and lives with his mother and sister. He is a full time musician and hopes that he will land a recording deal from his experience on Idols… Brother man can sing I hope he gets to be loved by South Africans.

Sgherdeed

Sgherdeed Ross (28) has miraculously been able to fit in her passion for music in her schedule. And now that the Reiger Park, Boksburg, singer has made it on Idols, she plans to make the most of that. “Whether or not I get far in the competition, I will pursue my music career because of the platform created for me”… She has the looks and the voice, she also stands a good chance.

Terra

Tersius “Terra” Kocks (28) hails from Eden Park, Alberton in Gauteng and is a part-time singer and songwriter. He lives with his older sister, aunt and her two sons. He hopes that Idols will give his career a boost so that he can become a major player in the music industry.  He is currently a singer at Katzy’s Grillhouse in Rosebank, Johannesburg… I like Terra, he’s got a voice but I don’t know if he has the Idols spirit.

Thami (Simphiwe Shobede)

I hope Thami has more friends than enemies because people need to vote for this talent. He is talented and I wish him all the best.

Lusanda

Lusanda Beja (25) comes from a home full of women. He lives in Gugulethu, Cape Town, with his mother, grandmother, aunt and two sisters. He has just completed his National Diploma in Marketing Management at MSC Business College. After Idols, Lusanda would like to pursue music full time. “I would like to host more music seminars, more gospel events and go into the business aspect of music because of the opportunity that Idols has presented to me”… Forgettable faces on a competition aren’t my thing.

Thamsanqa

Thamsanqa Vuyo Thabile Mathonisi (20) the spur of the moment decision to enter Idols SA turned out to be one of the best decisions Thamsanqa has made yet. Even after the second year Music and Drama student at University of KwaZulu Natal forgot his original audition song, he still managed to bag three yeses and sang another…I’m still not sure how i feel about him

Noma

Student teacher Nomalungelo Noxolo Khumalo may love children, but music is in her blood. The 22 year-old from Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, lives with her parents and younger brother and hopes to land a recording deal. Meanwhile, she looks forward to completing her Bachelor of Education at Unisa… This is the one to watch out for…

Luke

Nontobeko “Luke” Ntombela (27) hails from Escort in KwaZulu-Natal and lives with her pastor and his family. She is a waitress at Primi Piatti and regardless of whether she wins or not, she hopes a producer will spot her talent and be able to help her become a force to be reckoned with in the music industry… I love Luke and she is also to watch out for.

Amanda

Amanda Kunene (22) from Durban North she lives with her mother, twin sister and younger sister. She is currently studying towards an Honours Degree in Music at the University of KwaZulu- Natal. She hopes Idols will help her land a recording deal and be more involved in the entertainment industry… I admire here for her confidence more than her vocal capabilities.

Bevin

Bevin Samuels (19) is from the friendly city of Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape. The youngest of all the contestant, he has taken a gap year to pursue his music career. He is also the baby of his family and lives with his parents and two older brothers and a sister. “I plan to be a full time musician and with the platform that Idols has given me, I will hopefully be able to take it far and get my name out there”… Bev is a tough one for me only because he is a mkhaya, truth be told he is not good nor is he powerful I see him being one of the first people voted out of the Top 16.

Siyakha

Siyakhanya Tshayela (23) is the first of four siblings. This full time musician from Vosloorus in the East Rand hopes to open a musical organisation for upcoming musicians where she can give vocal lessons, and do the same for her church and former music school…. I just love her!

Sanele

Sanele Simphiwe Mkhize (21) is from Ntumaza in KwaZulu-Natal and is studying Ecological Tourism at Durban University of Technology. He lives with his mother, cousins and aunts. This year, he has taken some time out of his studies to pursue his passion in music and compete in Idols. If he doesn’t reach the final, he plans on going back to school and studying Law and eventually start his own business… Strong vocalist in the making!

Vusio Novaaa

Firstly we wish to congratulate the oh so talented Vusi Nova on releasing a new album Naninina, It’s an eleven track album that encompasses songs for any mood, you can sing for a loved one, umshadweni, ebumnandini and when you feel like showing appreciation to someone. His album is out in stores get yourselves a copy!

savison IMG

Still on music, do you guys remember Sis’ Savita and late bhut’ Vuyi Mbuli’s son Sithe “Sthe” Mbuli? The one tweeted Nomakula Kuli Roberts after his Dad’s passing three years ago, ALLEGEDLY. Yeah him! READ HERE He is all grown actually 16 years old, tall and all things sexy *not perving* and a rapper.

Apparently he is AND has been working on an album set to be released some-time next month umh! I can’t wait to hear his rhymes! Oh he raps in English only (for now) he says his Mother tongue is a bit tricky for his rhyming/tunes. He is adorable and I’m sure a lot of young girls and some boys will enjoy his music and hopefully adult folk too!

DSC_0916

Khuli Chana is one of the musicians that are making a come-back with a bang! It seems as if the TSWA DAAR hit star is far from being done with us. He has signed a deal with absolut vodka and last week he premiered his life documentary titled Picking up the PIECES, the Khuli Chana story talking about how the police shooting affected his life and career…

The silly side of me was there scratching head wishing to find out how much his settlement was. It is said the Docie will soon make its way to small screens, so keep an eye and ear out for Khuli Chana’s Pieces! Bring it on Khuli! And hopefully a new album will follow.

BeyBlue

On rumour-mill bathi Beyonce Knowles might be the head-line for this year’s MAMA’s… I guess we will have to wait and see if this rumour turns to reality.

That’s It!

SA Idols Top 16, Ladies Performances Recap!

$
0
0

I know this is delayed but technology was against us, lets start!

This part Sunday we saw our first live SA Idols Season 12 Top 16, ladies Top 8 performances and boy were they LIT! The opening was EVERYTHING including savings and investment portfolio, that’s how incredibly awesome it was. I wish someone with bigger powers could show Rihanna how South African Top 8 ladies rocked, killed, buried and cremated here WORK rendition… I could watch that over and over and never get bored, The ladies voices blended and shone when needed to. All of them were perfection! Guest appearance Babes Wodumo (whom needs a bit of Idols training for mic handling) together with Dj Tira kept the fire burning on the Idols stage at State Theatre as well.

This weeks theme for the ladies was  “Hits of the Last Decade”

and I will start with my worst performance(s):

Nosihe

Nosihe Zama Zulu closed up the show with a more than horrible rendition of Beyonce’s XO. she definitely has to go. She does not belong to be in our Top 10… remember what I said about her last week…I honestly don’t know how this girl made it to Top 16, it’s evident she went for vocal training/consultation after her golden ticket but she still does not cut it for me, there were mush more talented girls than her. She does not have what it takes.

Luke

I don’t want Nontobeko “Luke” Ntombela to go shem because she is a talent however based on her song choice Yoga by Jhanelle Mone feat. Jadena. and performance I have no choice but to put her up. She was underwhelming!

Okay I have no-one else to put…

Siyakha

Siyakhanya Tshayela, I love. She chose to sing a song I have never heard of Valelisa by Trademark and Zinhle Ngidi and she sang it well. She gave it life! SA please keep her on. I must say I heard a lot of Lebo Mathosa on her vocals. ezomqala?

Noma

The Star of the night to most South Africans was student teacher Nomalungelo Noxolo Khumalo , she chose to sing Rihanna’s Stay feat. Mikky Ekko. And sang to stay! I’m confident she is making it to the Top 10!

Valentine

One of my faves Valentine Mathe opened up the show with Beyonce’s Halo

goosebumps galore!

LuciaAnother favourite of mines is Lucia Jakeni, who chose to sing Adele’s Send My Love (To Your New Lover) … I am a bit on the fence here however she managed to show off  her vocals in as much as I felt she was sinking.

Amanda

Amanda Kunene performance was okay not WOW just okay but the song she chose to sing Ariana Grande’s Dangerous Woman is Mjita’s favourite song so I loved it! LOL

Sgherdeed

Performance of the night to me goes without saying to Sgherdeed Ross Deep in the Bottom by Black Coffee feat. Monique Bingham, I danced throughout her showcasing! I enjoyed it and I loved it!

Who will you be voting for?

Still on last week’s happenings we were invited by TCF for the Allure BMW International Polo Series Launch Party out at The Communications Firm in Bryanston. Not much was happening just a mention of the drive behind Allure teaming up with the events with TCF and people mingling nje, I must say I enjoyed the food. It was close to being perfect!

We spotted the lovely Dineo Moeketsi, she was with her boo thang.

DSC_1396Sk Khoza.

DSC_1397 DSC_1403Actress Natasha Thahane came with this lad Simphiwe Luthuli (I think that’s what he said his name was) and immediately shouted “he’s not my boyfriend, ngiyanazi nina niyathanda ukubhala izinto ngabantu”… anyways I ignored her and took the snap.

DSC_1402 I followed the lad to the bar I asked about their relation he claimed they are brother and sister, I then asked why are they not sharing a common last name, he referred me to Natasha for that. *sigh* kids!

Today’s Trip to State Theatre was sponsored by Ford South Africa, they gave us one of their mean beasts to test drive for the week-end and to also use as means of transport to and from Pitoli. without wasting time, lets get to today’s shows!

image003The 8 guys are going to try impress you for your votes this evening, i hope they impress.

OPW.

A couple wants to pull off the perfect wedding, but the odds aren’t in their favour. Will they have their dream wedding?

02Oupa won’t be fooled by Ngema’s sudden change of heart. Ngema gives Bassie an ultimatum, while Lindi reaches out to an old friend.

Eish Phila mara, If you recall on my predictions list I stated my love for Phila Madlingozi he is still not my favourite competitor there even though I kinda like the energy he brought to the song “Ungowami”, from Uhuru (featuring Speedy, Wizkid and Donald)... he kind-a resuscitated my energy after Sphe's fail (in my eyes and ears). Good Luck to him!
The water pump begins to spew dirty water, as we see that Vusi is operating behind his father’s back. Nomazwe seeks spiritual help to get to the source of her barrenness.

And at 21:30 Biker Boyz

If you’re a motorcycle enthusiast, then you may enjoy this high-octane action film about the son of a legendary urban biker gang who tries to retain his championship title.

SA Idols Top 16, Gents Performances Recap!

$
0
0

This week’s drive to Idols SA was sponsored by Ford, as one of the official sponsors gave us their Eco boosted Fiesta to keep for the weekend and we will talk about the car later for now let’s talk Idols. This week’s episode of performances was a continuation of last week from the girls with the boys show casing their hits of the decades choice of songs.

20160911_170340

But before the showcasing the boys opened up their show with Rick City hit song (feat Adam Levine) Never has locked away which was a bit under the bar if I get to compare it to the girls opening.

20160911_171328

Quickly after the boys opening the queen of house tunes Mpumi took to stage a mash-up of her two hits… naye nje was underwhelming compared to last week’s guest acts.

20160911_170311

This week I opt to start with the best performance of SA Idols ever!

20160911_183230

Yes Terra’s (Tersius “Terra” Kocks )performance was perfect.  I have never in my entire SA Idols watching life seen such a performance; I had to watch the repeat Monday evening (no PVR) to ensure I was not hearing things zomqala on Sunday evening.  Randal Abrahams would always say capture your audience from the moment you open your mouth until the end and that is what Terra boy did. He got more than a standing ovation from me and loads others at state theatre.  Terra Cox was singing Maxwell’s Bad Habit which by the way happens to be one of my favourite songs by him. My only gripe with Terra is his outlook, he looks extremely nonchalant it scares me, it was like that incredible performance was nothing to him. I hope South Africans look deep than his outlook because the boy can belt it. Best ever rendition!

20160911_182034

Thami dzarling you were not too bad yourself on your second time around on the Top 16 stage. I really enjoy Thami’s vocals I hope he will get a chance to sing a soul RnB’ish song that will showcase his other singing side to win more of South Africans heart. I see him going far in this competition; he sang the hell out of Drake’s Hotline Bling! Good Luck to him too J

20160911_173219

Sanele (Sanele Simphiwe Mkhize)chose to sing a song I’m not familiar with (Charlie puth’s One Call Away) but what stood out for him is how he stood there and just sang the life out of the song. His amazing vocals demands attention without any frills, Sanele is a true and effortless singer.

20160911_180742Those Legs! *fans self* 20160911_180816

Out of pity I’m putting Tebogo (Tebogo Louw) in 4th place this is apart from the fact that he looks hotter than hot…my kind of hot and that the poor boy CAN sing but makes bad choices or lacks that THING Somizi mentioned. Tebogo sounded as if he were nasal singing Rainbow by Black Motion with Xoli. I did not enjoy it but I want to see him through because I feel he could offer us a lot of good music in weeks to come.

20160911_172122

One strong vocalist is Thamsanqa, (Thamsanqa Vuyo Thabile Mathonisi )he kicked off the show with Akulalwa by Deejay Shimza feat Dr Malinga. Just like Lucia the overall performance did not impress me but vocals. I will and hopes he makes it to the Top 10.

20160911_175521 20160911_175515

Before the show I bumped to an old friend of mines from Cape Town that I have not seen in the longest time, after we exchanged greeting he told me he was attending the show to support Lusanda (Lusanda Beja) so I went in the theatre looking forward to what Lusanda would do and I was not impressed. He sang Vusi  Nova’s  Thandiwe . I just did not feel his rendition for no uncertain reason.

20160911_184434 20160911_184438

The last two performances I did not enjoy one bit. I will say it again Keegan is not even close of talent to the 6 boys I have mentioned above, the only thing that MIGHT get him votes are his looks just like Brendon of Season 9. Keegan (Keegan Martin) did not do not even the slightest of justice to Usher’s Climax, I will be happy if he were to be voted out. We want real talent not ubuhle!

20160911_174524

I said this when the top 16 was announced 2 weeks ago and I will say it again Bevan (Bevin Samuels)needs to go, I don’t know how he made it to Top 16 over the talented Karabo. Mkhaya or not he has to go, mediocre has no place in my mind and Chris Brown would kill him for destroying one of my favourite song Back to sleep. Makahambe shem andifuni nokuva!

20160911_173732

On a side note, our judges must have been high on some drug this past week they were far from being realistic with their comments, they were blowing hot hair on the boys hills for no tangible reason or maybe the mandate for the show this season is  for them to give positive feedback to the hopefuls regardless.

20160911_174337Idols band is baus!!!!!!!!!

See you next week!
