This week our top ten sadly had to say goodbye to that one unfortunate individual that is Sanele thanks to SA voters that opted not to vote for him. If you can recall I had him and Nosihe as horrible performers of last week though I would have loved to see more of him in the completion than Nosihe but abahlali *side eyes* chose to vote more for u- Nosihe .

This week’s theme for Top 9 was Judges songs as expected Terra opened the show with Chris Brown feat Usher ‘s  New Flame .  I could never have pegged him to choose such a song, for a good second I cringed thinking why mara Terra why because the song is fast beat tempo and Terra to me does not look like the type that can do justice to such genre. He sang the song his way, I love how he downed the song.

Even though I felt her previous performance of Whitney Houston’s My Love IS Your Love was below par yet good… Do I make sense? For this week Noma chose to sing RiRi’s Russian Roulette, again this week I can’t fault her singing capability as it is flawlessly perfect but didn’t match my expectations of the song as it is not raunchy enough.

I see the need to congratulate Tebogo for making it to Top 9, I feel for more reasons than I can comprehend he deserves to be there unlike abanye because he is talent.   Tebza chose to sing one of my favourite songs by i-Coffee elimnyama with Bucie’s Superman. He killed it shem, I enjoyed the vulnerability on his voice from both his high and low notes it felt soooo smooth and effortless not to mention the acoustics. His performance made me envision myself le-Bae at Marco’s (Kitchen) African Cuisine in Cape Town eating ulusu namathumbu with steamed bread. I really really really enjoyed the rendition. Two thumbs up to you Tebza!

As disappointed as I am writing this, Nosihe failed YET AGAIN to salvage her rendition of John Legends All Of Me . Nosihe if you get to read this Nana, 1. You don’t have a strong voice to stunt on JL song. 2.  Don’t force talent, when you do your singing comes out more of screams and shouts than anything, to say the least. I still say you need to go girl.

After Nosihe making it through I was not surprised when they announced my homie Bevin as safe, ndiyadlala Bev sang the life out of that Robbie William’s Angels last week. This week JB’s Love Yourself performance was passable.

Lucia chose to sing one of my favourite songs from one of my favourite artists u-Toni Braxton’s Breathe Again , with all due respect to this incredible vocalist engu Lucia maar her rendition did not transcend  iphele emoyeni . However, I enjoyed watching her perform she looked good felt good and comfortable with herself over and above the rendition.

Riri’s Kiss It Better was performed by Keegan, I will not dwell much on the singing I feel his low notes were nonexistent he focused mainly on the chorus and singing those high notes. I fully agree with the judges, his voice is awkwardly old, to me singing a Rihanna song was rather inappropriate for his tone. Maara we know it’s never about what I say but the votes.

My fave, Valentine chose a song by an artist I struggle understanding, Alicia Keys is good and all but I can’t connect with her sound. I think I connect with a handful of songs from her I don’t even of any of her work *sigh*. With that being said Doesn’t Mean Anything  meant a lot to Valentine not the best performance but it passed as good.

Thami wabantu closed the show beautifully with Kelly K’s  and Bra Rob Malinga’s Sobabili, his rendition was amazing as was his legs on those meggings.
