Guys I’m tired, its only Thursday we still have another day to Friday *cries* Can’t it be December already.
About two weeks ago Daily Sun shared incredible news that of one of the loved RnB sensations, my lover *in my head* the one and only vocal bible Miss Brandy Norwood be coming to South Africa. According to Daily Sun Brandy will be making her way to our shores later this year for an all female tour dubbed Love Is Timeless . I must say I couldn’t contain my excitement, scratch that I can’t contain my excitement I found myself thinking of how the concert will be *imincili idlala ngam* like how Anele Mdoda would be if Beyonce were to come here, that’s how I feel about my Brandy.
In my thinking I envisioned myself being the music director of the show, to make it spectacular and unforgettable. This is how I saw pictured the show:
Opening acts will do their bit which we will appreciate the last hour and a half – to two hours will be Brandy’s. Firstly she must give us her state of mind in life for every song she will perform. We want to know the writers and producers also how each song came about. More like what Adele does but in a Brandy way.
Her opening song should be Broken Hearted just to start things off on a slow jammy mode. She can sing the first verse skipping the second to the bridge. Athi “… I’m young but I’m wise to know that you don’t fall in love over night… but I guess I’m lonely broken hearted life’s not over i can start again…” this song reminds me of primary years with ii-music books and all. It will sure bring out the fans to join in the sing along.
Second, third and forth songs to be taken from her first album titled Brandy, she must sing Baby, Best friend and I wanna be down from her first album released in 1994 to bring out the nineties in us. Isikhumbuze nge-baggy oversized clothes, Dr Martin’s and crop tops.
Move swiftly to her latest album Two eleven released in 2012. She must sing Sick, Wildest Dream and There’s no such thing as too late. I know a lot of people don’t have this album but Brandy fans should have and will appreciate it.
Take a break, come back to perform songs from Human, Camouflage, Piano man, Long Distance and maybe Human (not my favourite song).
From afrodisiac Say you will, Afrodisiac and Should I Go.
Final leg of her show she can either start with songs from Full Moon or Never Say Never. If it were up to me I would ask to perform all her songs and close off with Never Say Never but since this is for the people Full Moon songs to close.
There’s no song I skip on the Never Say Never Album so choosing just three songs will be tricky, The Boy Is Mine is a MUST , Have You Ever and Almost Doesn’t Count. (optional Truthfully)
In closing, Full Moon! WOW, Love Wouldn’t Count Me Out and close it off with Come a little closer (optional, He is, Full Moon, What about us, Nothing)
This would not be the first time Brandy comes to perform in our country. I hope this time we (fans) make it an experience to remember for our Brandy.
I see myself attending this show with my kid sis’ Bongiwe, Mark, Thuli, Shireen and Michelle.
Official concert dates to follow…
Will you attend?
