Friday symbolizes the start of the weekend so we though why not use today to introduce a new feature In the kitchen with Zeeba… Most that follow me would know that I have taken a serious liking in cooking, I love flavoured food however I’m not schooled in such so I just use what I can, mix it up and viola! You get a meal. I wish to give credit to my Mom Nombulelo Tetyana, my late brother Ringo Masombuka, South African Chef Siya Mtongana her cooking show inspired me to try out some of her user friendly recipes and one of our very own blogger Vuma.
With In the kitchen with Zeeba bloggers are invited/allowed to invite me, Zeeba to their kitchens, braais, stokvel, and restaurant or wherever you (as a blogger) want us to be as long as we will be making food. It could be Amagwinya (fat cakes) , lamb stew , i-stamp, tripe or whatever wethu and we will share it here on JC for others to salivate on… we don’t need to show your face, house or share your username… this is about cooking/sharing different recipes or ways of making eats. With that out of the way let’s look at the meatballs I made last week end for a picnic.
Defrost your mince (if frozen) in the most natural way. I always choose to put out any meat in the sun or open space to defrost instead of the microwave…. I don’t know why I prefer it that way but I do.
Finely chop your peppers… size is dependent on the number of guests you’re excepting to serve and/or the amount of mince.
You don’t necessarily have to use all three different coloured peppers.
Also chop your Parsley, Coriander and Italian parsley.
Once all is chopped mix with your mince making a ball shape.
Then dab your meatball(s) in your seasoning.
I used Curry Powder Medium flavour, lemon black pepper, Pink salt, Thyme, chicken spice Rosemary & Olive.
Ndagqiba with the seasoning phase I threw my meatballs on a pan with olive oil. Put your Stove on medium heat to allow each ball to cook fully without burning or rushing your food…I don’t like to eat rushed food.
grated lemon, carrot and sprinkled with maize meal.
